Green With Envy 2

Dear Neighbor,

I apologize in advance for the state of our lawn. I am nervous about chemical use and really don't like to use them on my lawn. Cancer scares me and I don't like my children to run and play in a lawn treated with chemicals. I tried organic once and I will probably try it again this summer. But anyway, back to lawn care. You do a fantastic job. Your lawn is gorgeous. It is so green and neatly manicured. If your lawn grows even 1/4 an inch, you are out there cutting it. You mulch yearly. You trim. You edge. You fertilize more than the Scott's family. It shows how much you care about your lawn and your house. And when it comes to snow plowing, no one does it better. You don't even wait until it is 1/2 inch deep or until it stops snowing. You are there.

So here is where I am confused. What is the deal with the Christmas lights still up? I know we live in Ohio and it feels like Christmas even in April sometimes. You took down the nativity set and the reindeer right after New Years. Thank you. But, why the icicle lights? Why are they still on every night? Yes, you have your lights lit even in the middle of March. Back in February, I told my husband that it was probably because it was still winter. The icicles were up and illuminated because it was winter. I gave you the benefit of the doubt in February. But today, the weather was warm. We were at the park all afternoon. It was almost 60. We have had a week or so of pretty good weather (for Ohio).

Dear neighbor, maybe you have something going on. Maybe someone is sick. Maybe you are working too hard so you don't lose your job. I don't know. My son at the bus stop asked today why your Christmas wreathe was still up. I told him that I often wonder.

So as neighbors, let's cut each other some slack. I will try not to judge your winter decorating if you promise to look the other way come dandelion season. Does that sound like a deal? Sounds good to me.

(Snowflakes falling on our neighbors house a few weeks ago. Picture taken at 6:30 a.m. on my way to pick up the newspaper and lights were still on.)

My hubby fertilized over the weekend, which is why were were out at the park like so many others. I'm not big on the chemicals either - I'll wait until it rains before the kids can play and that really stinks.

Geez-o-flip. Makes me want to dig through the garage and string the lights back up. NOT.

Oh, and the dandelions? Keep them AWAY from my yard! :)

I was thinking they just had them up...not ON! Crazy!

And I loved your list of commandments for maternity wear. Too cute. I think we need a pic of the bump :)
